The Garden Trowel works quickly and comfortably through both soft soil and rough ground. This gardening tool is ideal for digging, turning, and spreading soil, prepping garden beds, and planting seedlings. Constructed with an ergonomic, heat-treated stainless steel blade and a comfortable wooden handle.

Choose between two looks: Walnut and Black oxidized steel for a natural feel or Ash and Mint enamel paint for a bold and bright color match that makes tools pop in the dirt.

The Materials

Just three materials make up our gardening tools: stainless steel, durable walnut, and copper. Stainless steel is an ideal material for tool longevity. It’s rust-resistant and easy to clean: two necessary qualities for outdoor gardening tools. Dense and shock resistant, walnut is a highly prized hardwood perfect for a handle. The warm and rich color complements its steel and copper counterparts to create a beautiful, timeless implement.

The Inspiration

The Gardening Hand Tool collection was inspired by the classics that have been used for centuries to get the job done. These are the tried and true tools that each gardener has hanging in their potting shed, covered in mud, from a season full of use.

Our tools are created to co-exist with the outdoor world. Using non-synthetic, high-quality materials in our products allows for a deeper connection to the dirt you're working in and to the present moment. These tools become a natural extension of your hand into the earth.

The Design

After several years of testing and redesigning, we took the staples and elevated them to meet our expectations.     Works Great

    Just used this for the first time last weekend and it works as expected. The handle is confirmable (for a wooden handle). This trowel is well made and look good. I have several other Barebones garden tools and they have stood the test over the last 3 or so years. The garden season is almost here and this trowel will be used every weekend for the next 2 months. Happy gardening everyone.

    Great tool, well made

    It's a great spade with a sharp edge to cut into the dirt. Very well made, with proper care (the wood wax) I expect it to last a lifetime.
